Welcome to my website. My name is Suzanne Rubinetti and I am a psychotherapist. I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders. I love my work. I have worked with and helped thousands of wonderful women over the past twenty years. An eating disorders is a very serious illness. My interest in this area dates back to my years as an undergraduate student at Penn State University. My college roommate had a life threatening eating disorder. She was anorexic and bulimic for years prior to college. At that time I was caught up in the world of dieting myself and always worried about gaining weight or losing weight but I did not know what anorexia or bulimia was. I heard the words in high school but it was that year in college that I learned about the seriousness of these disorders and the pain, the fear and the anxiety that came with them. I feared my roommate who had become my dear friend was going to die. Eventually she did leave school and with the proper intervention she did recover.

I was fascinated by these illnesses. How could someone who is 120 pounds eat 10,000 calories in fifteen minutes? How could someone be so thin and think and truly feel they are obese? How could my roommate not eat for days and still go to class? As I learned more, I saw more. I became a resident assistant the following year and I saw how prevalent these eating disorders were on campus. I decided that I wanted to work in the field of eating disorders. I am very committed to my work. I do a lot of public speaking in hopes of educating parents and in hopes of educating young people. I have seen a lot of recovery. I have seen a lot of changed lives.
